Spiked Necklace in White & Gold (40cm)

*READ GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE COMMENCING WORK*

MATERIALS:
Size 9 beads from OLAF: 3 bags white (41), 1 bags gold (22)
A size 10 crewel needle is recommended.
White thread
Gold clasp

ABBREVIATIONS:
W = White
G = Gold

INSTRUCTIONS:
Fasten onto one end of the clasp with a "button-hole" stitch.

1. 1G4W1G(a) 3W (b,c,d). Sew back through (a) following the direction of the arrows in the diagram. Take the needle on through (b).

2. 2W1G (e) 3W1G3W. Sew back up through the 4th bead from the needle to make a small point.

3. 3W1G3W sew back through the 1st gold bead near the catch. Button-hole onto the catch again. Bring the needle back through the 1st bead and then the last 4 added in row 2 (i.e. 3W1G). Twist around the thread between the beads to secure.

4. 2W up into (d), taking the needle through (a).

5. 4W1G (a) 3W (b,c,d) Sew back through (a) as in step 1, and sew on through (b).

6. 2W1G (e) 3W1G3W sew back pu through the fourth bead from the needle to make a small point.

7. 3W sew up through (e) from last point.

8. 2W sew up through (d) and sew on through (a).

REPEAT STEPS 5-8 UNTIL 43 LOOPS COMPLETED, OR DESIRED LENGTH

TO FINISH OFF: 5WIG button-hole onto the other half of the clasp, threading back through the last gold bead. 3W thread through (e). Twist around the thread between the beads and sew back up towards the clasp. Button-hole onto the clasp again and secure thread.
